Dear Mr. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Mr. J.D. Gibbs,
I’m writing you both in response to the press conference held today by Mr. Earnhardt, Jr. announcing that he was leaving his father’s company, Dale Earnhardt, Incorporated.
Mr. Earnhardt, Jr., I support you in what you’re doing. It seems as if you are living the NASCAR version of Cinderella with the evil step mother who wants to control everything even though your father built the company for his children’s future. I support you in what you’re doing and I hope that you do not try to have a Cup organization within JR Motorsports. Have you watched or attended qualifying this year? Red Bull and Michael Waltrip Racing - ’nuff said. As you’ve said, you need a well organized five-star team. Mr. Gibbs, that’s where you come in.
Mr. Gibbs, being the former racer and business man that you are, you know that Mr. Earnhardt is one of the most recognized and popular sports figures and 70% of fans at any given race are a part of the “Red Army.” He is a two-time Busch series champion, a championship winning car owner (Martin Truex, Jr. - Chance2 Motorsports), and he is a 17 time Winston/Nextel Cup winner. He is a savy business man in his own right, has a sponsor in Budweiser who will more than likely go with him wherever he goes, and he is very marketable.
Mr. Gibbs, I believe that Mr. Earnhardt is Joe Gibbs Racing’s fourth driver. I did not mention above that he has a very good relationship with your drivers Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin. Mr. Earnhardt and Mr. Stewart have a tremendous working relationship on restrictor plate tracks and other drivers work to keep them seperated. They worked so well together in 2004 that Mr. Earnhardt went on to win the Daytona 500.
Oh yeah, and he is a huge fan of your fathers.
Sincerely,
A fan who wrote this on her blog but you will never read this lol
