I Need Help…. | Diary of a Track Bunny

So originally for my Broadcasting & Culture class I was going to do something about how the media has changed NASCAR since 2001. I have to do my presentation next Friday and I just don’t have time to research everything, so I need to do something I know a little more about. The topic has to have had a impact on media post 1990 to now. These are my choices:

Friends
Total Request Live (TRL on MTV)
Britney Spears
Kevin Smith
Saved by the Bell
Lou Pearlman (admit he, he changed media - especially music)

So what do you guys think? I have to do a 20 minute presentation on it (powerpoint, video, etc) and in November I have an 8 page paper due about it. I made a B on my Elvis presentation and paper.

Which one should I choose?

mmmm…that’s a hard one … let’s see i suppose you should do the one that has had the most impact but you can’t narrow it down like that b/c each of those have had their own impact … i say go w/ Lou b/c it might be surprising to ppl who didn’t follow BSB or Nsync

but i don’t know, maybe other ppl have better suggestions

Hi- I’m new to your site, but if I were to do your presentation, I would choose MTV’s Real World. (not on your list) It was really one of the first reality tv shows, and it spawned so many imitators, and other reality shows, that it has actually changed the face of media as we know it.

My suggestion, based solely on the timeframe you have, is to pick the topic you know most about.

Britney Spears, hands down. Y’know there’s a buttload to discuss right there lol but if anything, I’d go with reality shows in general — it started as a trend and it’s still going on today, and some have taken it to a level it shouldn’t be at.. anyway. have fun!
