Yes and No…

I would say DEI would only put Paul in a car if they felt he was worthy. I do think that that the built-in sponsor helps Paul out. DEI might put up with average performances because they aren’t trying to impress and keep a sponsor.

Um…heck.no. Tony’s just being Tony, running his mouth about people JUST to get a rise out of them. DEI wouldn’t have put Paul in the car, with or without sponsorship if he wasn’t good.

I agree with Tony. His dad did buy his ride and if he ever dropped his sponsorship, Paul wouldn’t find a ride in a go cart!!!! DEI is only keeping him because of his dad and also because they know they won’t get anyone better, and a mediocre driver is better to them than a rookie or someone they would actually have to invest time and effort in. As usual - TEI is taking the easy way out.

Look, Paul Menard has more talent in a race car then his finishes are showing. My race shop is just down the road from where Paul’s used to be,. I have watched him drive a car for years. He can turn the wheel… and is even a more accomplished road racer. All you have to do is look at how he drives.. As a driver in both Busch and Cup, how many times has he wrecked someone by doing something stupid? I can only remember once in a Busch race he got into Stremme but that’s it. Its going to come together for him. I like Stewart but man he can revert back to a whining Indy driver sometimes..
