So says the former English major… and Creative Writing minor. So I went to the bookstore to see how many books I would need and this semester I only used one book really, because I dropped that one class but this coming semester - every class has one or more books.

Course Total: $52.50
Books for MDIA 4950, A - SPRING 08:
CAREERS IN MEDIA $ 11.25
Course Total: $11.25
Books for MDIA 4600, A - SPRING 08:
AVID HANDBOOK $ 35.25
TECHNIQUE OF FILM & VIDEO EDITING $ 33.50
Course Total: $68.75
Books for MDIA 3450, A - SPRING 08:
ETHICS IN MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS $ 64.75
Course Total: $64.75

Total: $260.75

Yeah and those are used books.

Damn that’s a lot for books that are used. I would hate to see how much they are brand new!

That is quite a bit of books. I hated my major in college. We had to always have the newest version of all of the books so we never had used available. We also needed the most expensive books as well. I never spent less than $500 per semester on books.

It really is ridiculous how much college textbooks are. I was lucky not to be a math or science major. Are you going to try and look online to try and find better prices? If I ever remember the site I used, I will post the URL here…

I always hated buying books. Try http://www.textbooks.com I looked at the price for the “Ethics in Media Communications” and they had two different ones, both for less than $35 dollars. Hope you can find something. Have a great day.
