Raped in the mouth…

Yes, I felt like I was raped in the mouth. Something kept telling me not to go. I kept telling myself “No, it’s just your nerves. You need to face your fears.” Everybody told me that when they got their wisdom teeth taken out and a tooth pulled, they were drugged up. I should have told them no after they said I would only have novicane… or however you spell it. So where 5 should have been pulled… only one, my bottom right wisdom tooth. It hurt too badly. I began freaking out. I began crying. Listening to my ipod didn’t help. Nothing helped. Finally he told me couldn’t do anything after I told him to stop and he referred me to an oral surgeon. He didn’t even give me any pain medicine and now I’m sitting here in pain.

I knew I shouldn’t have gone. I knew it.

No, woman, you have to be put to sleep! I love my music too, believe me, but even that wouldn’t have helped had I been awake when I had mine taken out!

I’m with your dentist on this one - go see the oral surgeon. Not only will it be less painful, he’ll be your drug dealer too =)

This is so not something I’m looking forward to, either. (Of course knowing me, I’ll put it off until it’s life-threatening.)

Damn. *HUGS* I went to an oral surgeon to get mine out and I was put out. I think they may have given me novocaine, too. My brother Kevin just had his taken out two weeks ago and he, too, was asleep. While I never got around to going to get my pain prescription filled, he did and used just one pill that night.

I have had to have a “root scaling and planing” done twice. YES it is as bad as it sounds! I told them the ONLY way that it was going to happen was to knock my ass out. For the first one I was out for about 4-5 hours and they gave me some good drugs to take home. When I woke up the next day… no pain. The second one wasn’t as detailed but same thing, knocked me out, woke up and no pain. It’s the only way to go. Sorry that you had a bad experience. Just tell the surgeon that you don’t want to be awake or aware and only numbness will do, and he will fix you up.

i had surgery done on my mouth for my braces, & i went to the surgeon & had novocaine & the gas stuff.
it wasn’t that bad; altho i’ve had a LOT of stuff done like teeth pulling & all that.
i need to get mine taken out, my jaw has hurt for like 2 weeks now.
