I have been on a major Nick Carter kick all day. Yes, to all you NASCAR fans that visit this site, I am a certified Backstreet fanatic. Okay, so I don’t cry when I see them in concert, but I did tell Nick Carter to stop stalking me (long story). LMFAO! To deal with this stuff and after reminising of old internet “fame” in the Backstreet world, I’m going to start my own personal BSB site up again. Not one where people can post their stories, but one of my OWN. It will also include my NASCAR stories. McFanGirl and Backstreet Fiction will stay as they are but I think I need to do this for myself. (more…)

I’ve never been as sleepy as I am right now. Okay, that’s possibly a lie or I’m just deceiving you, the reader. Don’t ask, the difference between lying and deceiving was on my Media Ethics exam this morning. I think I did okay on it… I think I forgot one answer but I should have made at least an 80, I hope. Now I’m sitting here at work, working three extra hours today because I have my dentist appointment with the oral surgeon tomorrow. I admit, I’m a little nervous. Studying is where I’ve been hiding all weekend so that’s the reason for the lack of updates.

There’s also another reason..

I’m starting a new website, a NASCAR Magazine / Site geared to females (and males too if they’d like to visit). I’ve always wanted to do this and since I watched the E! True Hollywood Story on “Playboy” creator Hugh Hefner, I’ve been inspired to do so. After the website gets rolling, I plan on trying to create it into an actual print version that people can order online. Hopefully we’ll get some advertising going and actually make something of this!

So, if you would like to write for the new website / magazine, reply here and leave your email address in the form where it says so. I’ll contact you guys once I get everything going (which I do basically now… just have to settle on a name).

You can write anything from news, features, gossip, opinions, Top 10 list, anything original. Send it to me and I’ll post it. If you have photos or anything that you’ve taken, you can include those also. If you’re interested in writing, journalism, the media, whatever, you can be a part of this.

Do you know what I miss most about being younger? I miss jumping out of school for a weekend and heading to the beach on a whim’s notice. I used to go to St. George Island or Jekyll Island four or five times a year. Do you know the last time I went to a beach was? Weekend before last to Daytona Beach but never saw the beach. Before that was last year in Daytona when I was down there for a week working for Fox and before that…. I have no idea because I don’t remember. I remember going to the beach with my CD player and listening to Garth Brooks’ album or renting cruiser bicycles from the hotel like the one above (which you can see and riding it up and down the beach and through the trails. I miss those days. I haven’t ridden a bicycle since I went to the beach a few years ago. How sad is that? It’s so carefree to do something like that and you don’t have to worry about anything else in the world… it’s just you, the ocean, and your bicycle. I need to have a small beach vacation soon and do it all over again.

Aaron Carter, brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, was arrested Thursday in Kimbell County, Texas. Carter was pulled over for speeding and police found marijuana in his Escalade.Police found less than two ounces of Mary Jane on Carter. His arragnment was held this morning in Texas and no news on what went down as of it.

My question is… what the hell was he doing in Texas?

In other news… the Jonas Brothers have confessed that they are virgins and plan to wait until marriage before having sex. Does this include oral sex? Probably not.

To honor her son’s memory, Pattie and her husband, NASCAR driver Kyle Petty, started the Victory Junction Gang Camp which serves the needs of children that would not otherwise be able to attend camp because of special medical needs. Pattie is highly regarded in the NASCAR community for her charitable work and demonstration of strength, but she wants all moms to know that when it comes to grieving, she’s no different than anyone else. “I am not a powerful woman,” Pattie admits. “I am not any better with grief, or handling the loss of a child than anyone else. Sometimes I get put on a pedestal for what my husband does, but most of the time I tell other parents who have gone through adversities like we have that I am just like they are. I say, ‘I still have days of extreme struggle and stress and that’s just normal, you know.’ Sometimes I think they look at me and say, ‘Oh I want to be like you,’ and I say, ‘You are–I’m not different.’”

The past few days have been kind of hectic. I started getting sick at he beginning of the week and now I’ve been diagnosed with full blown strep-throat but I’m still kicking, going to classes and working. The paper was Wednesday night and we got finished early but I stayed and helped Taylor work on his resume and cd with some of his work to send over to the newspaper in Bainbridge because they’re looking for someone at he paper.
