I won’t lie and say that ever since my surgery, my bank account has been less than stellar. Fine, it’s not even stellar. It’s been down right pathetic. Without any dental or medical insurance, I had to pay everything, including those luscious pain killers that I was taking. Thankfully, I have a really good credit card that has a great interest rate that I can depend on. Thank God I was able to get this credit card last year because I’ll be honest, my credit score isn’t all that. Thankfully for people like me, there are bad credit credit cards that help people who either don’t have credit, have bad credit, or want to make their credit better. You can check out these credit cards over at creditcardclub.com. And tomorrow, I’m using my credit card to buy gas to go to work. Thank you, Visa and Mastercard!
Dear Mr. Stewart,
I’m writing this letter in response to some feelings that I have been feeling lately and how I think some of your fans are feeling after the heartbreaking weekend in Charlotte.
First off, you won that race. In the hearts of all of your fans, and even some of the people who don’t like you, you won it. You know it, the fans know it, your crew knows it, and Kasey Kahne knows it. I listened to the in-car audio the entire race and you were in perfect form all night. From joking about the tire that hit the motor home to telling your crew what a great job they did after pit stops, you were on your game and so were they.
As a huge fan of yours and the #20 Home Depot Joe Gibbs Racing Team, it scares me to think that you won’t be there in the future. I guess in a way we know how the Earnhardt fans felt last year when their “fan world” was in the midst of being turned upside down. The important thing with your contract talks is that you find something that makes you happy and something that will more than likely take you until the end of your career.
Honestly, the Haas CNC discussions are a bit scary to me. In the back of my mind, it scares me to think that you could go over there and close out your career on a possibly less than stellar mark such as Dale Jarrett did after moving to Michael Waltrip Racing which is still struggling to stay in the Top 35.
Tony, you are Joe Gibbs Racing. I know that Jarrett and Bobby Labonte were there before you, but you are what makes JGR what it is. The first thing people think of when you hear “Joe Gibbs Racing” is Tony Stewart. The first time I went to Joe Gibbs Racing, I was amazed at how much of a shrine it was to you. They’ve been there for you when everybody else wanted to throw their hands in the air at you. It’s hard to picture you working with anybody else but Greg Zipadelli in the Cup series.
Why change something that isn’t broken?
You’re not broken, Tony Stewart. Your team isn’t broken. Your organization isn’t broken. You’ve won two championships with Joe Gibbs Racing. You’ve started winning those Nationwide Series races with them that had been out of your reach for so long (except for the ones you won for DeLana Harvick). You’re in the Top 10 in points. You would have won two or more races by now if it hadn’t of been for pure bad luck or last lap passes.
We want you to be happy, Tony, but will starting completely over somewhere else (especially a team that struggles week in and week out like Haas) make you happy when you have a championship winning team of guys who have been with you for ten years who have stood by you through thick and thin?
I know this letter will probably come off as snobbish and rude, but it’s not intended to be. It’s just from a concerned fan, worried about the future of her favorite racing team.
You’re a winner, Tony Stewart.
Sincerely,
Karah from Georgia
and all the other fans that agree with this
It’s been a while since I wrote a “personal” post. The past week has been kind of weird for me, recovering from surgery, trying to work on my internship, and basically just being lazy. I went to the office once last week. I was supposed to go Friday but the file with all the text, which is the last thing I have to put into the planner, wouldn’t open and thankfully I tried to view it before I went to the office. I never heard anything else from them, so I have to wake up early tomorrow morning and head over there because I work in the Student Life office from 11 to 3 I believe. I also have to head back to the dentist at some point for a check up but I need to find out what time I have to go or when. (more…)
From the NASCAR.com article, “Stewart’s late slip hands Kahne Coca-Cola 600 win”, finally something about what happened to Tony Stewart after his tire went flat.
Instead, he wound up a frustrating 18th and stormed into his hauler without comment. He could be seen inside the truck kicking at the cabinets as crew chief Greg Zipadelli was left to answer questions about yet another near-miss.
It’s so heartbreaking and I’m usually not one to be like this, but it is and you have to know what he feels… exactly what Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has felt all season. They have come so close and then something silly or just something out of a movie happens and bam, their chances are gone.
I listened to them every lap of the race. They knew their car sucked during the daytime but as soon as the sun went down, the car turned on.
I just hope this frustration doesn’t lead Tony to leave Gibbs. A blown tire isn’t their fault. It’s nobody’s fault. It happened a few times tonight to several guys.
Heartbreaking. Now, I’ll go to sleep hoping Mr. Kahne knows that if that tire hadn’t of blown, he would have been to the side, watching Tony and the #20 crew celebrate in victory lane.
In the words of Tony Stewart: “That’s just beautiful……”
Unless you’re living under the rock, the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 is taking place right now live on ABC.
Here’s wishing Danica Patrick good luck! My favorite Sarah Fisher has already wrecked out due to an incident with Tony Kanaan and his teammate.
