In the closing laps of last night’s Richmond night race, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., the driver of the #88 National Guard / Amp Energy Drink Chevy was closing in on his first win in two years.
Just then, Kyle Busch, the driver of the #18 Pedigree Toyota, drove up under him and “got loose”, promting Earnhardt, Jr. to spin, hit the wall and ultimately, causing him to lose the race.
Wait, there’s more…
A lot of the crew guys on Earnhardt, Jr.’s #88 team were once team members of Kyle Busch’s team for Hendrick Motorsports last year. One of those guys, Rick Pigeon, went up to Busch last night to argue with him.
If you know Rick Pigeon, you know Rick Pigeon,” Busch said. “Thinking I did it deliberately was beyond insane. I drive a race car, and when I make mistakes certain people have to pay for them. Unfortunately today, that 88 bunch, today they’ve got to pay for them tonight.
Earnhardt said one better.
“Whether it is fair or not, he is going to need some security,” Earnhardt said.
So that leads me to another poll….
Who would win in a fight between Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.? Lord, Kyle, you’re a popular fighter this weekend.

Ah, but yes, Earnhardt would kick Busch butt in a fight. No questions.
