It seems like everytime the words “Karah” and “money” are involved together, it’s never a good situation.

Take for instance the one I’m in right now. My internship I did by designing the Student Planner for my college was a paid one and so I finished the internship, the lady over me sent the stuff to payroll and I expected my check to go through the bank on Friday.

Nuh uh, so we call around and find out that the papers had just been sitting there. We needed to fill out another paper at the Student Employment Office, which is some new thing they’re doing. We didn’t know this, and they didn’t bother calling anybody to tell us after Payroll called them.

So while I sit here typing this, my cell phone could be disconnected because I was supposed to pay it Friday.  I live by my cell phone. My live revolves around it, which is a change from this time last year. It’s the way I communicate with people at work at both jobs and checking news, rumors, etc. Plus, my mom’s cell is on the same account and we don’t have a home phone. With her being sick, we need a phone.

So after stopping by Student Employment and giving them the signed paperwork, I ask if I could take it to payroll and she said no. I’m like huh… So I stop by Payroll because the lady who was over the project told me to ask them if there was some way I could get paid this week, so I go, ask and the lady never really answers my question but does tell me that if Student Employment doesn’t send the paper over before Wednesday, that I still won’t get paid.

“Does that mean after Wednesday I can ring that bitch’s neck?”

Yes, that was my response. So I’m going to be badgering the hell out of the SEO tomorrow until they take the paper over because they are tired of dealing with. So unless some miracle happens, I won’t get paid until next Thursday.

Being out of work almost three weeks for my surgery really screwed up my money. When you don’t work two weeks, you basically have to work four to get paid again, and that’s kind of what happened. I mean the surgery was worth it… so worth it.

Do you know how long it’s been for me to eat ice cream or something cold and not have to worry about it hitting a nerve or something and causing a toothache? SO LONG! It’s amazing and just amazing to smile now and not feel bad about myself.

But dammit, I need to pay my bill and I need gas money.

I swear I have the worse luck with money.
