This week, a former NASCAR Nationwide Series official filed a $225 million lawsuit against NASCAR.

The former official, Mauricia Grant, filed suit alleging 23 specific incidents of sexual harassment and 34 specific incidents of racial and gender discrimination.

Grant, a black woman, began working for NASCAR in January 2005 and was fired in October 2007. She claims she was fired after complaining about the inappropriate incidents that happened to her.

NASCAR spoke out against the allegations, claiming they never received a formal complaint about the incidents that Grant is suing the corporation over.

In Kentucky Friday, where the Nationwide Series will race tonight at Kentucky Speedway, two officials were suspended and were sent home. The unidentified officials were two of the 17 officials named in the lawsuit along with Nationwide Series director Joe Balash, assistant series director Mike Dolan, two supervisors, NASCAR’s senior manager for business relations and the human resources director.
