I’ve never really cared much for Pocono. Joe Gibbs Racing has been dominant there the past few years, especially with Denny Hamlin, but the only good parts of the Pocono race is the beginning and the last thirty-or-so laps.
Today was no different.
The only bad thing about today is that a JGR car was not leading at that point. Kasey Kahne had the dominant car all day except for several patches in the race when Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart led. Tony’s car came into it’s own and again, was set back due to some stupidity.
This time it was a pit road penalty for driving too fast exiting pit road.
The last thing heard on Stewart’s radio today was “Ask NASCAR if I was too fast that time?” after driving through for his penalty.
Thanks to today’s race, Stewart has fallen to 12th in points. With a contract on the table and the current points situation, it makes a Tony Stewart / Joe Gibbs Racing fan very nervous.
VERY nervous.
