The first full issue of the newspaper came out Thursday and drama has already begun with the newspaper this year. F.I.R.E., Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, who has been backing one of my school’s former students who was suspended for stupid reasons, bought an ad in our newspaper, our city’s newspaper, and the U.S. World News & Report, basically dissing our school. It caused drama at our school, with both of my jobs clashing, and just, it’s annoying.
Evidentally, most of the administrators at school love the fact that we ran the ad and loved Lee, my managing editor’s, editorial. Unfortunately, now F.I.R.E has e-mailed me personally about it.
Being in charge isn’t easy, at all.
Right now, I’m sitting here, listening to my sports Editor, Dustin, and his roommate (my boy and former sports editor) Adam on their pre-game show for our football game. I’m about to head to town and get my phone turned back on! YAY!
I’ll post more of an update later with what’s going on with me.
