Bernie Mac, the comedian who starred in such hit films as Oceans 11, Oceans 12, Oceans 13, and Guess Who, has died at the age of 50 from complications from pneumonia in a Chicago hospital.
The actor suffered from sarcoidosis, a lung disease, but said that the disease went into remission in 2005.
His film career started with a small role as a club doorman in the Damon Wayans comedy “Mo’ Money” in 1992.
Mac gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom “The Bernie Mac Show.” The show garnered Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for Mac.
He also starred in movies such as “Bad Santa,” “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” and “Transformers.”
He will be missed.
