Just keep gettin’ better!

This week has been one of the most hectic, yet highly interesting weeks of this year so far.

It started out with me going to work and class on Monday and then leave to interview the President of our university. He’s new, having taken over the position barely two months ago. He came from a school in South Dakota so being in southern Georgia is a drastic change for him, especially the accents he joked. He’s really nice and the interview went over well.  The highlight of the trip to the President’s office was finding out that all the ladies in the office are NASCAR fans - a Hendricks fan, Carl Edwards, and I forgot who the others liked. They also liked Tony Stewart and we discussed his race on Sunday and his antics.

After the interview, I went out to eat before coming home to study for my Document Design and News Writing exams. Those went over well on and then I had a Student Organization Manditory meeting to attend and luckily I made it home five minutes into “90210.” Thank god! That night I stayed up until 1:30 transcribbing the interview with the president and writing my pop culture column.

Wednesday was interesting as well. A drama occured with one of our new writers and someone higher up in the ranks at school who she was doing a story on. She sent them her finished story and they basically rewrote it. It was a strange situation and I had to talk to the writer into not quitting the paper, which is odd, because sometimes I just feel like I want to quit, but I can’t because I love it too much.

The paper ended up being absolutely awesome, but on the bad side, everybody in the office got sick Wednesday night. I skipped class and work on Thursday morning, but made it to News Writing and my independent study where my advisor told me I needed to let others on the newspaper do things. It’s hard for me to let go of doing the website or letting someone learn b/c I already know how and I think it works faster. It’s going to be tough for me to let go of a few things, but I need to b/c I’m getting overwhelmed.

Today, or I guess I should say yesterday, consisted of me depositing my check and going to work. Antonie ordered Domonios for lunch for us while at work and I worked until going to the budget meeting at two. That’s when I learned that gas was rising. From the time my mom called me to tell me that I needed to fill up when I left school to the time I got to my usual gas station, gas went up almost a dollar.

Now I’m sitting here at 2:30 a.m. and I’m wide awake because I went to sleep when I came home. I’m on some new kind of medicine to help my cold go away. I’m about to head to bed, but I knew I needed to come post an update of some sort.

I love that I have something productive going on in my life, things I’m being recognized for, instead of wasting my life away doing nonsense shit. I just wish I had more time to update my blog here with gossip that I love. I hardly get to go to my sites that I like to visit during the week… the message boards. I don’t know what’s going on with BSB, Jonas Brothers, or anybody right now. I feel so lost lol

We’re going to be starting editor blogs on the newspaper site soon and I’ll have one there but it’ll mostly consist of me discussing newspaper things and stuff going on around campus. I most definetly won’t stop blogging here… this is my baby.

You’re busy doing stuff you have to do and no one can fault you for it, especially since it’s stuff you enjoy doing.
