I was questioning the song title when I first heard about it. I mean, “Love Story” is very typical of a teenage love song. The title alone kind of makes me cringe… but then I listened to it.

The lyrics take you further into a relationship than a typical love/country song will take you. My favorite lyric is Cause you were Romeo I was a scarlet letter and my daddy said stay away from Juliet.

Taylor doesn’t just talk about the Romeo & Juliet, but she throws in other tails of literature’s forbidden love into the lyrics.
