After telling my new co-worker, Brian, yesterday that I wasn’t in the NASCAR mood and didn’t know why…. well less than 24 hours later, I’m buying tickets for the Budweiser Shootout in Daytona. Yes, Karah’s crazy. Yes, Karah’s crazy. I repeat, Karah is crazy. We’re just going down for the day and drive back and stay in Jacksonville and visit with an old friend of mine before coming back Sunday.

Where do I begin? The past few days have been a little bit of a blur. I’ve had a lot going on and when I get a little downtime, I have to deal with website crap which isn’t that bad, but still.. plus I’m at work right now waiting for six when I get off and can head home. (more…)

This morning has been enlightning so far… first off I wear my Vote for Hillary 2008 t-shirt to class this mornign where I immediately get jumped on. That’s one thing I hate about politics, people take it too fucking personally! So what? I want to vote for someone, who gives a crap! This chick, who I have no idea who she is, but she’s in one of my senior media classes, jumps on me practically saying “Why are you voting for her? What do you have to say for yourself?” and I replied: “Back off, it’s a t-shirt and it’s eight in the morning, shut the fuck up!”

And then I found out that Fox has called the school wanting students to come work for them again for Speedweeks down in Daytona but one thing… they must have a penis. Well, I wasn’t born with one, so I can’t. Basically, they’re wanting to be cheap and I guess put the guys all in one room together. It sucks but honestly, I don’t have time to really do it this semester with my classes and other responsibilities, but I would have liked to had the opportunity. Meeting and seeing Dierks Bentley and interviewing Luke Bryan is a little more important I believe, at least to me right now. Fine, I’m bitter, leave me alone but I’m okay with it. My mom wants to go to the Shootout but I just don’t think I want to. I’m just not excited the season is starting, I’m not into it at that moment, and I think I know why but I’m not going to say why on here but people can’t pretty much guess if they think about it. I’m a little burned by it all plus I’m so busy I don’t have time to even think about it.

This Snoop Dogg song is stuck in my head, it’s not even funny. The video is awesome and so retro, making Snoop look like Prince in the early 80’s or something. Other than that, nothing much has been up. I haven’t felt good the past two days and neither has Piper. She slept most of the day yesterday after I went to pick her up and moved around a bit more today but still slept a lot. I don’t remember Phoebe feeling so bad after being spayed.

Other than that, nothing much. I got my tickets to see Dierks Bentley, Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan… pretty good seats too, not as good as I usually get. I think my Mom bought some concert tickets too for something else although I can’t figure out what, then again I haven’t really researched who’s coming around here so I figured I’d wait and try to be surprised. It’s nice because I haven’t seen many concerts in the past few years except for Josh in 2006 and then the Nashville Fan Fest concert in June. It’ll be nice to use my new big zoom on my camera.

Now I’m sitting here watching DeGrassi on The N and thinking about heading to bed. I’ve got plans for tomorrow and my tummy has got to stop hurting. I’m not sure what the problem is. I think I’m getting a virus but I’m not sure. But ya know, I think my life is a little less simpler now. I don’t have people constantly asking me to help them with stuff or to do this or to do that. I don’t get 1500 emails a day and I don’t have people constantly asking if I’m ignoring them.

Haha, I should kick people out of my life more often. It relieves a lot of stress.

I think I’ve pretty much figured out over the past two days that my trusting people has seriously lowered more. I hate being kept in the dark about things more than anything and if people would just be honest with me and tell me stuff, then I wouldn’t blow up and get upset about things. I know people probably do it because they think it’s in my best interest and all but I hate it and that’s pretty much all I have to say about that.

My plans for this coming week is:

• Monday - Therapy, dropping by the office, seeing about possibly getting a press pass to take photos for the paper at the championship game in Alabama if I’m able to go. Call to set up dentist appointment for the first round of work.
• Tuesday - Go over to meet with the career counselor to go over my resume more and work on my cover letter. Start work on closing Track Bunnies and opening the new site. I’ve had the domain for a while, just didn’t know what to do with it until today.
• Wednesday - I’m having lunch with somebody and working on the site stuff some more.
• Thursday - Not sure.
• Friday - Going to Alabama maybe for the Championship game?

I know one of my grades so far… I made a B in Sociology and I brought that up from an a borderline F/D at midterm. How awesome is that? I really enjoyed that class in the long run.

So something told me to call the loan company today to see how my case was going and the lady told me that they were mailing out a check later today so that everything went through! This isn’t a loan with the school so this is to help me pay for Summer and to go to the dentist to get that all done. I’m going to go ahead and start paying the fees and stuff now while I’m still in school. However, I asked for a little extra in the amount so that my Mom and I won’t be stuck at home during Christmas. I want to go to Nashville or Charlotte for Christmas… and from the looks of it, it’ll be Charlotte. I’d rather go to Nashville but it’s too expensive to go. Hopefully it’ll snow up in North Carolina, and hopefully we do get to go. It’ll be nice not being stuck here, alone because honestly, we’re always alone on Christmas - ever since my Granny died and even thinking about going somewhere for Christmas is making me be in the Christmas spirit and I haven’t been in the Christmas spirit since she died. I used to love Christmas and now, like every other holiday, it’s just another day. I want it to be special.

Yesterday was… interesting. We get down to Jacksonville at 7:30 and end up not having a place to park and we thought we were going to have to pay $30 to park which.. huh…. not happening. Eventually we get a parking place and I get placed to be the producers “phone person” which basically what I ended up doing was answering the phone for the producer… they would call and say “So and so has an injured ankle and will be out the rest of the game”. I tell the producer, the producer tells the director who tells the broadcasters. I also wore this little headset and everytime there was an injured player, I would tell this guy (I think he was in NY) who it was and what team, or if there was a time out, I would tell who and what team. It was interesting and I felt like I had an important job role. (more…)
