With just a few friends on hand (and four boxes of Maine lobster), surprise couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon tie the knot at a sunset ceremony on the beach in the Bahamas

They hadn’t even gone public with their relationship–in fact, they had only recently begun seeing each other–when Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon decided to take the plunge. “We got tattoos!” says Carey. “His is on one shoulder to the other and it says ‘Mariah.’” And hers? “It’s on my lower back and it says ‘Mrs. Cannon,’” she says. Only after that did they ink a marriage license–and pull off the surprise wedding of the year. Carey and singer-actor Cannon first met in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards but only started dating in late March. Just weeks later, to the shock of a lot of their friends and family, they whisked off to Carey’s Bahamian estate and wed in a sunset, ocean-side ceremony April 30. While still on their honeymoon, the giddy newlyweds spoke exclusively to People’s Liz McNeil about their whirlwind courtship, Cannon’s candy-themed proposal and–yep–having kids.

So, how does it feel to be married?
Mariah: [Laughing] Who wants to go first? You go first.
Nick: It feels amazing. My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. I’ve been smiling for days.
Mariah: It’s comforting–and something I’ve never felt before. Which is really being in love and happy with someone who really understands me and isn’t trying to do anything but make me happy. It’s wonderful. (more…)

Yeah, Ashlee Simpson may love her sister, Jessica, but she does not want her music played at her upcoming wedding to Fall Out Boys’ Pete Wentz.

The 23-year-old balked at the suggestion that she and Pete would party at their upcoming wedding reception to some of Jessica’s tunes. She tells Heat Radio: “No, that would be really nerdy.” [Source]

Britney Spears returned to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana early Friday, Usmagazine.com has learned.

The singer left L.A. via a private jet to attend her 17-year-old sister Jamie Lynn’s baby shower Saturday.

Their mom Lynne flew back to Kentwood April 24 after spending months looking after Britney in L.A.

Jamie Lynn was left alone with fiance Casey Aldridge to celebrate her birthday on April 4.

“Touch My Body” singer Mariah Carey got secretly hitched to her 27-year-old boyfriend-of-one-month, shocking the chart-topping songbird’s family and friends, The Post has learned.

Carey married little-screen actor Nick Cannon at the home Carey just bought in Eleuthera, the Bahamas, a source close to the singer said.

“They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks,” the friend said. “And she’s always had a crush on him.”

It’s the second marriage for Carey, who took her first walk down the aisle with record kingpin Tommy Mottola.

Cannon has last been linked with Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, to whom Cannon proposed via the Times Square jumbotron. Five months later, the couple broke up. (more…)

NEW YORK - Roger Clemens had a decade-long relationship with country star Mindy McCready that began when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and the pitcher was a Boston Red Sox ace, the Daily News reported.

Clemens’ lawyer, Rusty Hardin, confirmed a long-term relationship but told the newspaper it was not sexual.

“He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her,” Hardin said. “He’s considered her a close family friend. … He has never had a sexual relationship with her.”

The Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair article that everybody wants to read….

“It’s my favorite show! I love it!” says 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, speaking of Sex and the City over spinach-artichoke dip in a dingy Toluca Lake restaurant that for some reason, possibly native to the San Fernando Valley, is divided between cheerful families enjoying Saturday lunches and a glum row of barflies passing time by watching I-don’t-know-what on ESPN Classic. The restaurant was Cyrus’s choice. She loves the dip and the turkey-melt sandwich. She’s here with her mother, Tish, her eight-year-old sister, Noah, and somewhere between a dozen and two dozen paparazzi, who followed the Cyruses from their nearby home and are now waiting for Miley in the restaurant’s parking lot. Noah, curiously, looks like Dakota Fanning.

But back to Sex and the City. Miley says her Disney Channel sitcom, Hannah Montana, in which she plays a schoolgirl with a secret life as a rock star, is patterned in part after the former HBO series about women looking for love and hookups in Manhattan. “Obviously not the scenarios,” she explains quickly. “But if you watch Sex and the City, like the way the friends are, the way that it’s dry and they all have distinct characters—that’s a thing we try to do on our show.” (more…)
