The history of the NFL changed forever Tuesday when Green Bay Packer quarterback, Brett Favre, announced his retirement after seventeen years of throwing passes and winning football games.
Whether you hate the Packers and their diehard cheese head fans, you can’t deny what Favre has done for the sport of football. His passion for the sport and the game helped him through some of the hardest periods of his life, especially the death of his father in 2003 and his wife Deanna’s battle with breast cancer in 2004. On a bright note, I got contacted today from Luke Bryan’s manager’s assistant (well she emailed me for the manager) about setting up an interview with Luke before he comes here on Feb 16th for the newspaper, so that’s awesome. He’s from South Georgia and hey, he co-wrote “Good Directions” which is one of my favorite songs. It’ll be nice to do a profile on him. It’ll be a nice addiction to my portfolio.
