The first full issue of the newspaper came out Thursday and drama has already begun with the newspaper this year. F.I.R.E., Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, who has been backing one of my school’s former students who was suspended for stupid reasons, bought an ad in our newspaper, our city’s newspaper, and the U.S. World News & Report, basically dissing our school. It caused drama at our school, with both of my jobs clashing, and just, it’s annoying. (more…)

After watching the first part of Brett Favre’s interview on Fox News with Greta Van Susteren, there are several different things that I’m feeling.
As one of the few Green Bay Packers fans in South Georgia, seeing Favre tell Van Susteren that he retired early almost killed me. Seeing him talk about how he wasn’t fully committed at the time that the Packers needed an answer (before the NFL Draft) so he decided to retire. He said in his retirement press conference that he still wanted to play, but he wasn’t going to do anything less than 100%.
During a phone conversastion with Coach Mike McCarthy on June 20, Favre asked McCarthy what he thought about him (Favre) playing again.
McCarthy’s response: “We’ve moved on.” (more…)

Tara sent me an e-mail with the subject “Favre may come out of retirement.” So I was checking my e-mail on my phone while driving home (I know, how horrible of me) and saw the subject and freaked!
I immediately turned from NASCAR 128 to the NFL channel (forget the number) on Sirius and they were talking about it.
According to several articles online (this being the one that Tara sent me), it says that Favre has reached out to the Packers in hopes of returning. Of course nobody is saying anything about it but they said on Sirius that apparently the Packers told Favre that they had “moved on” with quarterback Aaron Rogers, who I don’t like as a QB. (more…)

Do you know what I love about summer? Because football practice is beginning and the next football season is just around the corner. Sure, NASCAR is going on, but it’s the NFL. Of course, this year is going to be different without Brett Farve, so I need ideas for my free nfl picks. Any ideas?

The history of the NFL changed forever Tuesday when Green Bay Packer quarterback, Brett Favre, announced his retirement after seventeen years of throwing passes and winning football games.
Whether you hate the Packers and their diehard cheese head fans, you can’t deny what Favre has done for the sport of football. His passion for the sport and the game helped him through some of the hardest periods of his life, especially the death of his father in 2003 and his wife Deanna’s battle with breast cancer in 2004. Hillary Clinton won Ohio and Rhode Island tonight. Right now she’s leading Texas after coming from behind, so I hope that she wins Texas. The whole delegate thing is just confusing for me, but I’m hoping she stands strong in this.
Today was a… weird day. First off, the day came. The day that Brett Favre announces his retirement. (more…)

Look at that face. Three points. In overtime. Just three little points and my boys would have went to the Superbowl, yet again. I always knew Peyton Manning was my favorite Manning brother. I watched both the Patriots win last night and the Packers lose and how badly did I want both of the P teams to head to the Super Bowl. It would have been the best vs. the next best (Brett vs. Brady). I have to say that I would rather New England win the Super Bowl because I just don’t like the Giants. They played a good game last night, but I just don’t like ‘em. For the Packers being such a young team (meaning the members are still relatively new), they had a good season and Brett’s season was fabulous considering the season he had last year. I just hope he chooses not to leave just yet. I’ve made it my priority that next season, I’m going to see him play somewhere. I don’t care if I have to fly somewhere. I never got to see Troy Aikman play because I was too young (early middle school years) but I am going to see Brett play. I’ve been a fan for over ten years now. Hell, my Packers jacket that is like my security blanket is 12 years old. LMAO.
It was a good season, Brett - a very good season… so come back.
Oh by the way, Betty, I don’t think Nick Carter likes Mr. Brady very much

My university just went out today and kicked some ass, winning their second National Championship in four years. This year was special because our coach left to go to Georgia Southern and we showed him we don’t need him! It was on ESPN 2 today also for any of you guys that got to watch it! We beat Northwest Missouri State 25-20 and they become the first team in Division 2 to lose the Championship three consecutive years in a row!
