Friday the 13th - The long version

Today, in a way, was the beginning of the end for me in several ways. The building that I’ve called my “home away from home” for the past three years with both of my jobs, is getting ready to be demolished. The movers came to begin moving the furniture out of my regular job today. I’ve been packing and taping things all week long while at work, which is why I haven’t been online while at work a lot.

Secondly, Buddy (our photo editor at the paper) and I finished cleaning out the “morgue” last night. We found newspapers from the 1960’s in there and it made me wonder if the reason why I was cleaning it out was to realize how I better not fuck the newspaper up as editor.

And finally, today along with all the other main radio people, Michelle, Kerry, Brandon, Mike, LaJuan, and even Kevin who graduated in May, signed the radio station off air according to the FCC rules at 3 p.m. until sometime in August I think, after everything is moved to the new building. (more…)

Things change… People change…

The past few days have just been…. crazy. I’m not going to make a long post because I need to get to bed. I have Senior Seminar in the morning at 8 and a huge Astronomy exam at 10 with Media Ethics in the middle at 9. Let’s just say… my future’s changed a little. I’ll go into more detail later.

The server here is going through a switch of servers so if things go a little wonky, stay with us but it shouldn’t go too crazy. My host is moving the site to a new server that isn’t slow or acting up.

I have the College Press Awards Saturday so I’ll be gone all day Saturday for those and make it back in time to do my radio show, which I’m going to try to record as a mp3 for those who have shown interest.

And Hillary Clinton had the quote of the night: “It took a Clinton to clean up the Bush mess the first time, it’s going to take a Clinton to clean it up this time, too.”

Damn, today is good.

So I wake up after not sleeping well because of stuff on my mind, go to therapy, have a great time there, go up to the office for a bit, chat it up, come home and I have money waiting for me! The loan check came early by surprise and my check for working the CBS NFL game! Getting checks like that make me feel all important, especially the CBS one because CBS is such a big company and stuff.

So now I’m about to head back to Valdosta, put the checks in the bank and go buy some shampoo. Yes, that’s how I celebrate making ALL FREAKIN’ B’s THIS SEMESTER. Okay so since I did good, I might buy something other than shampoo but this is future money. My future.

Now I’m gonna go spend the day alone, shopping and damn that’s going to feel good.
