There is no stopping Kyle Busch this season. The only thing that can slow him down is the muddy grass in the infield as he tries to do burnouts.
Busch beat defending champion Jimmie Johnson on a two lap shootout to win his seventh race of the season. He is only six races away from beating Jeff Gordon’s record of thirteen wins in a season.
Coming in third was Kevin Harvick with a solid run that placed him back in the Top 12 for the chase. Harvick’s return to the Top 12 knocked out his teammate, Clint Bowyer, who finished in 22nd position tonight.
Greg Biffle finished fourth with Busch’s teammate, Tony Stewart, finishing in fifth.
The Sprint Cup Series will take a week off and return to Indianapolis the following weekend for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. (more…)

According to Auto Racing Daily, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart may be called to testify in January in the court case that Kentucky Speedway has against NASCAR. Of course, this is a huge media spin to gain some notoriaty during the offseason. Trust me, I’ve been studying about how the news can do this. A small tidbit in the NASCAR court documents say that if push comes to shove, that they can call some of the industry’s top drivers, including Stewart and Gordon, to testify on their behalf.
Ah, gotta love journalism but if they interrupt Tony’s vacation… he might go postal on their ass.

Because ESPN Classic isn’t a part of my Comcast Cable System in Podunk, Ga (that’s not my town’s name by the way), I didn’t get to watch the awards live. In fact, I didn’t watch them until this morning as I lay in bed. I fell asleep before they came on last night due to Sports Center going overtime (40 minutes overtime?), so they were recorded for me on my lovely hard drive DV thingy.
My comments? Oh you know I have comments! (more…)

So the other day, David Poole was talking about the Kansas race on The Morning Drive on Sirius. If they had called the race when it started raining, like they should have done since they couldn’t run the entire race because the track had no lights… guess what would have happened?
Tony Stewart would possibly be heading towards his third Cup Championship.
Tony would have been 90 some odd points ahead of second place and Jimmie Johnson would have ended up further back than he already was. Isn’t it weird to think about that?
I need to get my voo doo ready. Jeff Gordon must win. He must.

According to different audio clips played on Sirius last night and today, the race in Martinsville was REALLY controversial….
- Audio Clip: Kyle Busch was again told to back off - this time by Jimmie Johnson’s crew chief and spotter. Kyle said that he thought this was a race - he said that this makes two weeks now with the “Golden Boys”. Alan, his crew chief, had to give him the news.
- Kyle was told not to dump Dale Earnhardt, Jr and to be a team player (???). They told Kyle that he knew the plan and to not spin out Dale Jr. Kyle was not happy.
- Audio Clip: Jeff Gordon says that if Ryan Newman ever races him like that again - he’s gonna dump Ryan Newman.
- Audio Clip: Denny Hamlin tells his spotter to tell Dale Jr.’s spotter - he’s gonna hold it wide open and dump Dale Jr if Dale Jr. didn’t stop driving like he was.
And apparently there was rumored to be a fight on pit road between teammates Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. Damn…Video? Well yes! (more…)

Martin Truex, Jr. almost had him a pole again today, but for the third time this season, it was given and then taken away when Jeff Gordon knocked him off today in Martinsville.
When will Mr. Truex get one? Can we all pray to the Lord baby Jesus who doesn’t even know a word yet that Martin will get one before Homestead? I’d likes it lots if he gets in the Shootout!
