Who looks better in the big brown truck? Newman, Truex, or Mears? / Graphic by TrackBunnyFilms.com / Photos by NASCAR & Getty Images.
We already know where Tony Stewart and Mark Martin will end up in 2009. Stewart will be joining Haas CNC Racing to form Stewart-Haas Racing and Mark Martin will be taking over the #5 Hendrick Motorsports car.
But what about all the other drivers who are changing teams, contemplating changing or just got dumped?
J.J. Yeley was kicked the curb today from Hall of Fame Racing. Road Course Ringer P.J. Jones will drive the #96 DLP HDTV Toyota this weekend in Watkins Glen. Starting in Michigan, Nationwide Series driver Brad Coleman will take over for Yeley.
There’s also rumblings around NASCAR that Mark Martin could be in the #5 Kelloggs / Carquest Chevy at Hendrick Motorsports as early as this season.
And what about Ryan Newman? The press has all but signed him to Stewart-Haas Racing but neither Stewart, Newman, or anybody else at Haas has confirmed it. J.D. Gibbs from Joe Gibbs Racing has counted Newman out from taking over the #20 Home Depot Toyota for Stewart. It’s rumored that Nationwide Series driver Joey Logano will take over that ride.
Martin Truex, Jr. has stated that he is close to announcing what his plans for the future are but when a report came out that Dale Earnhardt, Inc. had signed him to a new agreement, he all but spit and took a dump on the rumor.
So what do I see happening in 2009? Here are my predictions: (more…)

NASCAR has made the perfect weekend for any sophisticated person who loves to drink wine and eat cheese - the Sonoma / Milwaukee weekend!
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is at Infineon tomorrow while the Nationwide Series was at the Milwaukee Mile tonight. JR Motorsports #88 Navy driver Brad Keselowski dominated the first half of the race until a run in with Joe Gibbs Racing #20 Joey Logano. Keselowski’s car never came back to what it was.
Logano, on the other hand, continued to hit everything on the race track on his way to a second place finish.
Keselowski finished in 8th position.
Carl Edwards broke a 36 race losing streak in the Nationwide Series, winning in Milwaukee. He had not won since last June in Nashville. He then got out of the car, backflipped, yadda yadda yadda.
Edit @ 10:52 a.m. - Apparently Edwards did not do his usual backflip in honor of NHRA driver Scott Kilitta who was killed yesterday during qualifying.

Joey Logano made history tonight by becoming the youngest driver to ever win a race in NASCAR’s top three premiere series.
And he kicked some major tail by doing so. The 18-year-old driver of the #20 Game Stop Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing won his first Nationwide Series race in only his third start.
He also won his second Coors Light Pole in his third start today.
Keep your eyes open people. This kid is going to be around for a long time.

I remember hearing about Joey Logano the first time in 2004 and in 2005 when I went to Joe Gibbs Racing fro the first time, Logano was there, sitting out front with Aric Amirola signing autographs for fans. Everybody talked about how this kid was the next Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, but I had never seen him race.
When he started racing in the Hooter’s Pro Cup Series in the Southern Division, he won at South Georgia Motorsports Park where I go frequently and I was unable to attend it. Why? I forget now, but I know that I was devastated when I found out that he had actually won it.
I saw Logano again the next fall at Joe Gibbs Racing, still signing autographs for fans who were waiting around in long lines for Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin. People walked right by him, not really noticing him just like they do a lot of up and coming drivers when the “star” is nearby. (more…)

From Jayski: Logano wins All-Star Showdown: Joey Logano, the 17-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing development driver, picked up his biggest victory Saturday night winning the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway. He held off fellow Busch East driver Peyton Sellers, who turned 24 Saturday, following a green-white-checkered finish to the 250-lap event that has been dubbed the ‘Daytona 500 of short-track racing’. Logano won six times during the Grand National regular season including his first career start in the West Series at Phoenix International Raceway in April. He became the first rookie to win a NASCAR Busch East title and set the record as the series’ youngest champion.
