I didn’t sleep good last night. I’m not sure why. I guess because I was still worrying about my books and the fact that something happened with payroll again. I didn’t get paid for the newspaper and we’re all not sure what happened, but they’re cutting me a check and I’m picking it up Monday so that’s okay. The lady in payroll said I had a black clound hanging over me when money is concerned, which is true, especially when it’s stuff at school. (more…)

So, the makeover didn’t happen today. Hopefully it will happen tomorrow, if some money I transfered from paypal goes into my bank account. My paycheck is gone just like *snaps* that. I can’t wait until the paper starts back up in a few weeks because not getting paid for that is killing me this summer.

Anywho, I decided to add the Goodies section back to the site for peeps after some request for them. I’ve also added a few new wallpapers and stuff, including Taylor Swift, Jimmie Johnson, Miley Cyrus, and more… so head over to the Goodies section now. I’m using the Taylor Swift wallpaper right now, the one where she has the hoodie on. I might make some more tomorrow or down the road some. I want to have one for each driver.
As for what I’ve been up to today, it was an… interesting day that I don’t really want to talk about to be honest. I did watch a really cool movie called “The Linda McCartney Story” on one of the movie channels and it was really interesting. I’ve also had Miley Cyrus’ new “Breakout” album on repeat the past few hours. It comes out Tuesday and I think everybody should buy it because it’s pretty good for teen pop. I don’t know what’s up with me and Miley and the Jonas Brothers lately. It’s good music though. There’s nothing like good pop music that makes you smile.

It seems like everytime the words “Karah” and “money” are involved together, it’s never a good situation.
Take for instance the one I’m in right now. My internship I did by designing the Student Planner for my college was a paid one and so I finished the internship, the lady over me sent the stuff to payroll and I expected my check to go through the bank on Friday. (more…)

I won’t lie and say that ever since my surgery, my bank account has been less than stellar. Fine, it’s not even stellar. It’s been down right pathetic. Without any dental or medical insurance, I had to pay everything, including those luscious pain killers that I was taking. Thankfully, I have a really good credit card that has a great interest rate that I can depend on. Thank God I was able to get this credit card last year because I’ll be honest, my credit score isn’t all that. Thankfully for people like me, there are bad credit credit cards that help people who either don’t have credit, have bad credit, or want to make their credit better. You can check out these credit cards over at creditcardclub.com. And tomorrow, I’m using my credit card to buy gas to go to work. Thank you, Visa and Mastercard!

Going to college is not cheap. Trust me, my education has been expensive and if I decide to go to Graduate School like I’m planning to do, it’s going to cost more. Thankfully there are a lot of scholarships out there to help upcoming and current college students pay for that education that they need and deserve. There are websites such as Scholarships.com that has free access to lists upon lists of scholarships. The website is updated constantly with scholarships such as the Bill Gates scholarship, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. College is expensive, but with the help of a website like this, it can make paying for your education easier.

So says the former English major… and Creative Writing minor. So I went to the bookstore to see how many books I would need and this semester I only used one book really, because I dropped that one class but this coming semester - every class has one or more books. (more…)

So I wake up after not sleeping well because of stuff on my mind, go to therapy, have a great time there, go up to the office for a bit, chat it up, come home and I have money waiting for me! The loan check came early by surprise and my check for working the CBS NFL game! Getting checks like that make me feel all important, especially the CBS one because CBS is such a big company and stuff.
So now I’m about to head back to Valdosta, put the checks in the bank and go buy some shampoo. Yes, that’s how I celebrate making ALL FREAKIN’ B’s THIS SEMESTER. Okay so since I did good, I might buy something other than shampoo but this is future money. My future.
Now I’m gonna go spend the day alone, shopping and damn that’s going to feel good.

So something told me to call the loan company today to see how my case was going and the lady told me that they were mailing out a check later today so that everything went through! This isn’t a loan with the school so this is to help me pay for Summer and to go to the dentist to get that all done. I’m going to go ahead and start paying the fees and stuff now while I’m still in school. However, I asked for a little extra in the amount so that my Mom and I won’t be stuck at home during Christmas. I want to go to Nashville or Charlotte for Christmas… and from the looks of it, it’ll be Charlotte. I’d rather go to Nashville but it’s too expensive to go. Hopefully it’ll snow up in North Carolina, and hopefully we do get to go. It’ll be nice not being stuck here, alone because honestly, we’re always alone on Christmas - ever since my Granny died and even thinking about going somewhere for Christmas is making me be in the Christmas spirit and I haven’t been in the Christmas spirit since she died. I used to love Christmas and now, like every other holiday, it’s just another day. I want it to be special.
Going somewhere would make it special. (more…)
