NASCAR in 30 Seconds - about Commercials - tonight: As NASCAR drivers prepare to race the high banks of Daytona International Speedway and also to launch their new sponsor commercials, SPEED will air NASCAR in 30 Seconds, a special program celebrating the sport’s most memorable TV ads and looking ahead to the drivers’ new 2008 campaigns. The one-hour special premieres on Feb. 7 at 9pm/et, and will be re-broadcast several times during Speedweeks leading into the Daytona 500. NASCAR in 30 Seconds, hosted by Rutledge Wood, will revisit classic NASCAR TV ads of yesteryear, show previously unseen bloopers and behind-the-scenes footage from ad shoots, and preview several NASCAR and sponsor spots that will air on the Fox telecast of the 2008 Daytona 500 NASCAR in 30 Seconds is produced by NASCAR Media Group. So, I haven’t really posted my thoughts on the whole Heath Ledger thing. Why? Well for several reasons… I didn’t have time, the energy, and emotionally, I wasn’t ready. I will admit that I have never been his greatest fan, but I love 75% of all his movies. I was ecstatic just a few weeks ago when classes started and that picture above was on the cover of one of my textbooks, for Digital Media Production. It made me watch “Brokeback Mountain” again. Then I bought “10 Things I Hate About You” because the movie is good, and I was started to become enthusied with him playing the Joker in Batman and then bam…
I see the news.
Heath Ledger is the real first celebrity that I was a fan of that died in my lifetime besides Chris Farley and Princess Diana and that hit me really hard at a really bad time. I’m older now and I understand how life and the industry works better. I understand what being a fan is more than I ever did when I was 17 (when Farley and Diana died). This has just caused me to look at so many things differently. I put a little memorial piece in the newspaper this week. Some laughed at me, but that’s my emphasis… entertainment and features… it’s my area.

So tomorrow is the beginning of my dental work and I’m pretty much scared shitless. I broke down tonight while I was at the office working on the newspaper because it hit me that it starts tomorrow. I’m scared as hell. I know that sounds silly, but I really am.
Not to get all crazy and synical and crap, the past few days have been… odd. Let’s see, I didn’t get to sleep Monday night, well it was actually Tuesday when I went to sleep which shows how late it was when I got home from Astronomy lab, and had to get up at six and be at class at eight. By 4 pm when I got off work, I came home, stripped to my bra and underwear, crawled into bed and slept until 6am this morning… sleeping for fourteen hours. I missed dinner. I missed America Idol. I missed Nip / Tuck but I don’t care… I slept and I slept good, dammit. It’s been raining here off and on all day too.
And do you see that picture right over here… there is just something that is insanely hot about it. Click on it, you’ll see a bigger version. His hair isn’t all oily and it’s flowy, and shaggy and now that’s hot, but the oily - i haven’t washed my hair in thirteen weeks - hair look is ew. It died with Kurt Cobain. Yes, it did. That there, that Mr. Stewart, that is hot. Now I’m excited for Daytona… but will I get to go? Hmmm, we shall see. 
What in the HELL is going on with him? Has he lost a bet? Did he have a falling out with his hairstylist? Does he think it will improve his performance this season? Does he think he can bring the mullet back?
