And oh what a great birthday this will be…

This is probably going to end up being the worst second birthday ever… besides in 2001 when one of my favorite musicians went to rehab. This birthday… my favorite driver is leaving his team. Not just any team, but a team that I have grown to love, admire, and dammit, I can get there without a map!

Plus, I got my birthday cake like four days too early… oh well, who cares, right?

I’m taking the day off tomorrow and will do what I love to do… sit and be lazy, watch racing, write articles, and work on the newspaper website probably. That’s how I’m going to spend my last day as a 27-year-old track bunny.

I’m still not sure how I feel about the Tony situation… More on that tomorrow.

I do know what will make me feel better… if a certain someone were to win Saturday night… THAT would be the best birthday present ever this year… or the only one, but that’s beside the point.

Didn’t I blow your mind this time, didn’t I?

This week has been a living hell, which is obviously why there hasn’t been many updates. I’ve rarely been online and when I am, I’m checking news and replying to e-mails.

So the move? Well we have everything moved and basically set up in the Student Life office. The phone in the lobby where I work and the internet isn’t working yet, but it should by the middle of next week. It’s nice. We have a big kitchen and a place to eat and it’s nice.

The newspaper, however, is a different story.

Our space was dropped by 25% of what we originally had. We had three offices - newsroom, advertising, and business. Now we simply have newsroom and business office. The room that originally was going to be the business office was basically chopped in half for a janitorial office. The office was too small to use as an office, which means Sarah, our advertising girl, will have to be in our newsroom with her advertising reps.

That makes things very crowded, which is the only part I don’t like. I don’t mind sharing the space with Sarah because she’s awesome, but it’s just the less space part.

Other than that, I’ve had class which *yawns*. That’s all I have to say about it. My first exam is on Tuesday which is the day that the building is opening to the public for a walk through and stuff, so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to attend the opening or not, depending on the time. I plan on studying my ass off tomorrow and Sunday and Monday.

Besides that, I’ve started writing NASCAR news / editorials again and may be going to the Atlanta race in October with some exclusive passes so I can report on what’s going on. (Email me or comment if you want the URL… I don’t want to post it here because my full name is in it). That will be a big help to my budding little-non-existent career, but Journo over at NASCAR Insiders gave me some pretty good advice and I’m going to use it. It’s hard to be a fan and a journalist at the same time, which is why I’ve been trying to move away from my whole “fandom” thing lately. I want to be taken seriously in the sports journalism world, like Lee Spencer, Jenna Fryer, Nate Ryan and David Poole, four people I really look up to, even though two are around my age I think. Eh, I couldn’t help I found my calling ten years after I graduate high school… or nine years I guess, since I realized I wanted to be a journalist last year LMAO! I still think it’s hillarious I started at the newspaper as the webmaster with no real interest in journalism and now I’m Editor-in-Chief and want to do this for the rest of my life.

Weird, isn’t it?

Wonk the world…

Today has just been a downright bad day. Why you ask? Well I shall tell you why.

First off, I get ready and head to work. My mom goes and picks up her friend and they were going to come back, get my truck and take it to be serviced while I was at work. Well I get to work and wait, wait, and wait some more. The building manager doesn’t show up, thus, I can’t work. I wait thirty minutes and the bastard/bitch still hasn’t come.

To whom it may concern:

I am a private figure. I openly have a blog where I discuss my life, my college career, my future, music, NASCAR, other types of racing, movies, and other types of random topics. There is a difference in posting and writing information on public figures and private citizens.

Public figures are those who put themselves into the spotlight whether it’s becoming a singer, becoming a race car driver, or dating a driver. They are in the spotlight and therefore they are fair game. When one starts commenting about private citizens who are not in the lime light, racing cars, singing, dating a celebrity, we are not fair game. That is when issues of slander, libel, and harassment come into play.

When I’m not writing about school, work, or the such on here, I’m writing and posting about newsworthy topics, whether they are popular topics such as who won the pole for the Budweiser Shootout or if it’s a taboo subject of scandalous pictures of a NASCAR girlfriend.

For the record, IP’s are tracked on this site and are only used when blocking spammers and people who are so hostile that they think they must resort to bashing me because I express an opinion that is different than others.

Now, I must go to sleep because unlike a lot of people, I have a life and an 8am class in the morning where I must finish editing a documentary.

First you don’t cut your hair. Sure, it’s silly and I’m a silly girl woman. You walk around the Indiana House of Representatives, looking like some scratchy homeless man that someone felt sorry for and bought a suit. Then you change your radio show to Monday nights. I have an astronomy lab on Monday nights from 8 to 10 pm, thus I can not listen to your radio show with your sidekick buttboy Matt Yokum.

Up and Down, Up and Down

Today’s been a day of up and downs. Right, could you guess by the title? First off, I took Piper to be spayed and came and got back in bed until 10 when tickets for Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, and Bucky Covington went on sale and I got 10th row. From there I showered, did my hair, got dressed and went to pay the cable bill. I then went to go see Piper after her surgery and when I went to leave the vets’… the truck wouldn’t crank. Turns out, the same problem from last week.

I go to town and go by the bank and to the mall and then down to where my Mom was and we went to eat dinner tonight. Then we get home and she gets out of her car and goes to drive my truck to the grocery store and bam, it does the same thing again. So the guy who works on it over here is going to come by first thing in the morning to see what happened this time. It’s nothing he’s done at all… it’s Walmart when they put the new battery in. They didn’t connect the wires that good and it’s all screwed up.

Other than that, nothing much is up. I don’t think we’re going to Charlotte for Christmas b/c after thinking about it, it’s a waste of money. I’m not sure what we’re going to do. We might go up to my cousin’s in Atlanta.
