We already know where Tony Stewart and Mark Martin will end up in 2009. Stewart will be joining Haas CNC Racing to form Stewart-Haas Racing and Mark Martin will be taking over the #5 Hendrick Motorsports car.
But what about all the other drivers who are changing teams, contemplating changing or just got dumped?
J.J. Yeley was kicked the curb today from Hall of Fame Racing. Road Course Ringer P.J. Jones will drive the #96 DLP HDTV Toyota this weekend in Watkins Glen. Starting in Michigan, Nationwide Series driver Brad Coleman will take over for Yeley.
There’s also rumblings around NASCAR that Mark Martin could be in the #5 Kelloggs / Carquest Chevy at Hendrick Motorsports as early as this season.
And what about Ryan Newman? The press has all but signed him to Stewart-Haas Racing but neither Stewart, Newman, or anybody else at Haas has confirmed it. J.D. Gibbs from Joe Gibbs Racing has counted Newman out from taking over the #20 Home Depot Toyota for Stewart. It’s rumored that Nationwide Series driver Joey Logano will take over that ride.
Martin Truex, Jr. has stated that he is close to announcing what his plans for the future are but when a report came out that Dale Earnhardt, Inc. had signed him to a new agreement, he all but spit and took a dump on the rumor.
So what do I see happening in 2009? Here are my predictions: (more…)

Sit tight, I don’t believe it’s that kind of press conference.
Tony Stewart will take part in the weekly NASCAR teleconference for members of the media tomorrow at 2 p.m.
But here’s the interesting part - Ryan Newman will also be giving a weekly teleconference CAM for members of the media tomorrow at 3 p.m.
NASCAR usually holds the press conferences for media to call in and ask questions at 2 p.m. but they’re doing a special one this week.
Makes you think, doesn’t it?

I’m so happy right now that Ryan Newman won the Daytona 500… the 50th running at that. I saw his last win here at the track in a small race and talked to him about it last weekend and to see him win, his father and wife Krissie being so emotional…. he deserves it.
I’m not ashamed that I spent $40 on a Ryan Newman polo shirt last weekend and I’ll be wearing it tomorrow with pride!

The 2008 Budweiser Shootout will go down in history for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. winning his first race for Hendrick Motorsports and for being by far the best race that I have ever seen in person. I knew when I woke up Friday morning that something big was going to happen in Daytona. I had the same feeling a few days before Tony Stewart won the 2006 Pepsi 400 in Daytona. Since I had that feeling and saw the results… I knew to follow my intuition. (more…)

Why hello there Mr. Newman. How are you? Well, I’m tired, but you’re looking nice and refreshed. I think Ryan is going to have a good year this year… I can feel it.
Other than that, I’m sitting up at the office waiting for my astronomy lab at 8pm and I am SO ready to go home, you have no idea. I have a toothache and it’s cold outside and someone forgot their jacket today *points at self* Yeah, that’s not very bright. But I’m sitting here, listening to my Zune, listening to Celine Dion’s new CD and it’s pretty good. Her new single “Taking Chances” is good. I’ve been on a Good Charlotte kick today too for some odd reason.
Speaking of toothaches… I go to the dentist to start work on Thursday. I’m pretty much scared shitless and know I’ll loose some weight b/c I won’t be able to eat anything but soft foods, but it’ll be worth it in the end… I’m sure.
Oh, Journey is on! *dances to Steve Perry* Okay this is a random post. Holla!

According to different audio clips played on Sirius last night and today, the race in Martinsville was REALLY controversial….
- Audio Clip: Kyle Busch was again told to back off - this time by Jimmie Johnson’s crew chief and spotter. Kyle said that he thought this was a race - he said that this makes two weeks now with the “Golden Boys”. Alan, his crew chief, had to give him the news.
- Kyle was told not to dump Dale Earnhardt, Jr and to be a team player (???). They told Kyle that he knew the plan and to not spin out Dale Jr. Kyle was not happy.
- Audio Clip: Jeff Gordon says that if Ryan Newman ever races him like that again - he’s gonna dump Ryan Newman.
- Audio Clip: Denny Hamlin tells his spotter to tell Dale Jr.’s spotter - he’s gonna hold it wide open and dump Dale Jr if Dale Jr. didn’t stop driving like he was.
And apparently there was rumored to be a fight on pit road between teammates Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. Damn…Video? Well yes! (more…)

Today was pretty much a lazy day. We slept ’til noon, went to eat and then drove up to Mooresville, which is a nice little town but for some reason I don’t like it the way that I like Huntersville (and no, not just because of JGR). It’s like between all the places - Charlotte, Concord, Mooresville, Cornelius, Lake Norman, all of them and the JGR thing doesn’t hurt.
We went by JR Motorsports and looked around and pretty much got rushed by the staff to get out (well not really but they kept glaring at us to leave). They closed at five and it was just past four. Then we went up the road to Kasey Kahne Racing and my Mom and Penni stole some grass. Then we came back to the room, Penni and I went to Tara’s room and hung out, gossiped, watched “Dale” and tried to make Penni become a Junior fan. (more…)
