My old building. / My Camera Phone

Today has been one of those days, let me tell ya what. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. so that my mom and I could ride together to try and save gas money. Yeah, that didn’t work out too well. When I put her out, get out for a few, and then go to leave to head to school and work, my truck wouldn’t crank.

Finally, we got it cranked and I went to work where I had to answer telephone calls all day from mothers who are trying to get their daughters into a sorority. You never hear from fathers, it’s always mothers and daughters.

So I head to class and come back to the office and that to the right was in front of me.

They have finally began tearing down my building.

Back & Front Cover of Planner

I just went and had some early birthday cake and ice cream with my mom while watching “Wipeout” on ABC. The show is hillarious. If you haven’t seen it, you should. We sat at work the other day watching the first two episodes. My old boss, who I still work with, wants to go on that show. It’s awesome.

I’ve been planning out my fall semester and taking a que from my old friend Taylor… make the perfect semester. While, nothing is perfect… because I would rather NOT be taking a Biology lab, but oh well. (more…)

I need you now, I need you bad

I need you baby lookin’ just like that… I don’t care what people say, but I love Jessica Simpson’s new venture into country music. I have always been a fan of hers and I’ve had “Come on Over” on repeat for the last two weeks now.

My 27th Birthday Cake...

Well, unlike most people I know, I did nothing this weekend. I didn’t celebrate sqwat. I didn’t have a barbaque. I didn’t go swimming. I didn’t do anything. I’m not really a person that likes to celebrate things like that. I guess that’s why when my birthday rolls around on Saturday, it will be just another ordinary day.  I don’t really think celebrating things like the 4th of July is a big deal. That stuff happened how many years ago? We’re free. Woohoo. *twirls finger* But guess what? I was born 28 years ago and I’m here now. Celebrate me. Celebrate others birthdays. They’re still here. Like I said, it’ll be just another ordinary day. The friends I do have are away at home for the summer or moved because they got jobs and the ones I’ve ran away, well it’s just another day for them too. (more…)

Office Space - Karah Style

Sunday, June 29th, 2008 55 Views

My back is killing me today. I think I pulled something in it while moving stuff around the office yesterday. I didn’t get home until close to 9 p.m. and I missed Tony Stewart winning the Nationwide race yesterday. Of course, if I were home, I wouldn’t have seen it anyway since our cable was off until after ten because of a storm that happened yesterday afternoon.

But at least Katie, her boyfriend Adam, and I got everything pretty much organized. They left after we cleaned the desk and stuff and I stayed and started unpacking some. Somehow I ended up unpacking for close to three hours. That photo is basically my corner of the office.  I like having the small fridge and the bookcase near me.

I just hope that it can all work out so that I can stay an extra semester and be Editor-in-Chief for a full year.

Today I’m heading over to the office to organize and decorate it with Katie and her boyfriend. I so don’t feel like it but it needs to be done because the new computers are coming in soon and it all needs to be set up so IT can do their magic when the computers arrive. I would much rather watch the Nationwide race but tomorrow, the Cup race is mine!

For the record, the office is much more packed now than that picture. LMAO!

Predictions: McMurray, Stewart, Ragan, and Truex will do well, very well.

Other than that, I’ve been thinking more and more about Track Bunny Magazine. I want this magazine to get started. I want it to be a monthly thing online where people can download the .pdf file of the magazine and read it or print it out. I just… can’t write a magazine all by myself. I need writers. If you’re interested, please let me know. It’s one or two articles a month for a magazine. I have NASCAR information to get in contact with the right people for your interviews, information, etc. You just must have to have some good English, writing, and journalism skills. (more…)

Today… Part Two (The Public Part)

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 69 Views

The day started off with me waking up to the purring of one Miss Piper Prue on the pillow beside me, glaring me in the eyes. She kitty kissed me and I woke up as if I was in “Enchanted” or something. Yeah, that sounds a bit weird and gay.

Anyway, I head to school, drama about my check happens and I study for my test. I head to take my test, go pay my cell phone bill and then I go to Dairy Queen where they have my new guilty pleasure…. a Cherry Artic Rush! When it’s hot and humit outside and you’re longing for something, it’s better than sex, especially bad sex. On Friday after showing my mom around the new offices, we stopped by Diary Queen and got an ice cream cone. I kept eyeing the display but never got one. Yesterday after leaving class, I decided to go straight home but stopped by DQ to get one, just to try it. Love at first slurp, I’m telling you.

So I head back to the office to wait around for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new building that I will live in for the next six to eleven months, depending on when I graduate.  The internet finally works in the lobby where my desk at my work study job now, thank God!

Hopper Hall Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The ceremony started a little after six and at the hottest time of the day, I swear. The sun was glaring down on us and the men wore suits, of course. Then I spotted someone I hadn’t seen in a long time… Mrs. Carter, who was a teacher of mine when I went to school for web design. She taught keyboarding, but then went back to teaching high school and is now a State Representative in Congress or something… so I went to say hello to her and she remembered me and we talked. It was nice seeing her. I left school suddenly when I stopped going and never got to say goodbye to her because she left teaching there while I was on my “break.”

After that, I took a few more pics and I left to come home. I’m so freakin’ tired.
