I’m here with my confession…

Backstreet Boys Concert In Hong Kong For those that don’t know, I basically got my online start by writing Backstreet Boys fan fiction. Well I stopped a few years ago and closed all that stuff down, except for a archive site where I hosted mine and lots of other fans hosted theirs there as well.

Well today, a piece of my history is back - My Confession is back online! I’ve redone McFanGirl.Org so that you can take your pick of NASCAR, My Confession, or Backstreet Fiction. If any of you want to read something on My Confession, read “The Trouble With Love.” I’m pretty proud of that story and it’s the last real Backstreet story that I wrote.

I work tomorrow from 11 to 5:30 p.m. in the Student Life office tomorrow. Whoo hoo!

Spring Break: Coming Tomorrow

Thursday, March 6th, 2008 153 views

Thank God for Spring Break! It starts tomorrow at two when I close up the game room and I’m free for an entire week! What do I plan to do? Not a damn thing except try my hand at fan fiction writing and just hang out. I told Carolanne to let me know if she and her friend goes out because I might go out with them to one of the little bars or shit. I need to have a little fun because I have a lot on my mind.

My job that I’ve had for four years now will be no more after this semester. My job (both of them to be exact) is in the Union and they are tearing it down this summer to start work on a bigger Union. Well the newspaper is moving to the new building they just built along with the radio station but my main job is going to be non-existant until 2010 when the new Union opens up.

Yeah, I’m going to be long gone before then.  (more…)

Hillary Clinton won Ohio and Rhode Island tonight. Right now she’s leading Texas after coming from behind, so I hope that she wins Texas. The whole delegate thing is just confusing for me, but I’m hoping she stands strong in this.

Today was a… weird day. First off, the day came. The day that Brett Favre announces his retirement. (more…)

Feels like tonight….

Yeah, so I skipped my Astronomy lab tonight. I’ve been feeling off all freakin’ day and after work, I came home, took some meds and took a nap. I’m not sure what was up with me. Thankfully I have a counseling appointment on Wednesday after my Biology lab.

Luke BryanOn a bright note, I got contacted today from Luke Bryan’s manager’s assistant (well she emailed me for the manager) about setting up an interview with Luke before he comes here on Feb 16th for the newspaper, so that’s awesome. He’s from South Georgia and hey, he co-wrote “Good Directions” which is one of my favorite songs. It’ll be nice to do a profile on him. It’ll be a nice addiction to my portfolio.

Clumsy because I’m falling in love… I’m off like a prom dress!

The WGA Strike: My POV

Saturday, January 26th, 2008 741 views

This is an opinion piece column for this week’s newspaper about the WGA strike.

Are you tired of watching reruns of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Ugly Betty” on Thursday nights? You’re not alone and it’s all to be blamed on Hollywood.

Okay, so it’s not just Hollywood but mostly the studios and the Writer’s Guild of America (East and West). The writers’ have been on strike since early November because of several issues such as DVD royalties and the viewing and downloading of full episodes online that they were not being compensated for.

If I went to ABC.com and watched an episode of “Dirty Sexy Money,” the only person making money is the website owner (the studio) who was paid to place the advertising on the website.

The strike began when WGA’s contracts with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) ended on Halloween and talks began that night over the internet (new media) issue. The next day, the WGA committee that was negotiating with AMPTP suggested a strike and it officially began at at midnight on Nov. 5, 2007. (more…)
